Gary is a principal of Johnson, Christopher, Javore & Cochran, Inc. and has been actively involved in construction litigation since 1981.  He has been a frequent speaker for the Construction Law Section of the San Antonio Bar Association and Texas Bar Association. He has mediated over 500 cases and has been appointed as an arbitrator in over 250 cases.  He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in "The Best Lawyers in America" for mediation and arbitration for the past 12 years, was selected as the Mediation Lawyer of the Year for San Antonio in 2015 and 2018 and as the Arbitration Lawyer of the Year for San Antonio for 2017.  He sits on the construction/commercial and consumer law panels for the American Arbitration Association, Conflict Solutions of Texas, and the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution.

Rates Information


The fee for a half day mediation is $750.00 per party for two parties for the first four hours and is billed at $375/hour after the first four hours.  The fee for a half-day mediation involving more than two parties is $600 per party. Any time in excess of four hours is still billed at $375/hour.

The fee for a full-day mediation is $1,500.00 per party for two parties (which includes lunch).  The fee for a full day mediation involving more than two parties is $1,200.00 per party (which includes lunch).  If a full day mediation settles in 4 hours or less, parties are refunded half of their fee (less the cost of lunch).

Travel expenses will be billed for mediations outside of San Antonio.  Travel time is billed at $200/hour.

A cancellation fee equal to the product of the per diem rate and one-half the number of days scheduled for the arbitration may be assessed for any cancellation or postponement within thirty business days of the arbitration date. (e.g. the cancellation fee for an arbitration scheduled to last four days would be: 2 x $2,800.00=$5,600.00).
