The Academy has worked cooperatively with various bodies to ensure that only the most experienced professionals are included in our member roster. Note though that there are no formal certification requirements for the private practice of mediation or arbitration in Texas.

Association of Attorney Mediators

AAM is a nonprofit trade association of qualified, independent attorney-mediators. Members of AAM must meet qualifications and ethical standards which meet or exceed state or Federal requirements for mediators. AAM's 300 plus members have collectively mediated in excess of 130,000 cases and AAM is the foremost association of professional attorney mediators in the state. Texas Association of Mediators

Organized in 1985 as the Texas Association of Family Mediators, the organization originally focused on the concerns of family mediators and their clients. Over time, TAM expanded its outreach from family mediation to all areas of mediation, changing its name in 1990. Texas Mediator Credentialling Association

The TMCA is a multidisciplinary association offering voluntary credentialing to all mediators in Texas who qualify. The association has adopted and publishes a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice that apply to all TMCA credentialed mediators and grants mediator credentialing designations to qualified mediators.
