Biographical
Tom commenced in 1991 his full-time career as a mediator and arbitrator. Tom mediated over 4,000 cases and has retired from his mediation practice, and is now serving full-time as an arbitrator. Tom has arbitrated over 250 proceedings, both as an AAA Panelist on various Panels and privately. Tom also has served since 1992 as the Texas Special Master appointed by the Travis County District Courts for all insurance company receiverships.
Tom started his legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Carl O. Bue, Jr, United States District Judge, Southern District of Texas, Houston. Tom then joined the law firm of Sheinfeld, Maley and Kay, Houston, where he was a partner in and for certain years the Chair of the Litigation Section, Chair of Recruiting and a member of the Executive Committee. Tom left the firm in 1991 to establish his practice as a full-time arbitrator and mediator.
